hi:) um would it fit if the cover of my book that covers a whole vampire tragedy story using poetry were dark to fit with the story itself or kinda bright in contrast to make the reader actually think about the realtionship(which there is)

It really depends on the content.

I would think, in generally, no.

I have one of the ugliest book covers known to man on a romance novel I wrote years ago. My publisher thought it was a great cover. Ugh. It's great if you can control that...

My publisher actually let me decide along with the artist what the cover would look like. And I'm very pleased with it, indeed. Collaborated with a Croatian illustrator in Zagreb and he came up with a glorious cover, rich and exotic and true to the tone and feel of the book.
